Details
Renewal, per year. The zone commits in writing to renewing the all-inclusive package at the same price every year, licence and visa together. Almost no other zone does. The grace period is one month after expiry, and the renewal price is still not published on the public site.
Closing the company. Licence cancellation costs 2,500 AED. A company with visas also pays 780 AED per visa cancellation and 350 AED to cancel its establishment card. The procedure itself does not change: cancel every employee visa and the establishment card, run a press announcement for fourteen days, then obtain clearance from the port, from customs, from Etisalat, from the federal electricity and water authority and from sanitation.

Important to know
Rules that apply
- The zone states in its own frequently asked questions that a licence cannot be used without a location. The all-inclusive package covers this: it includes a virtual office lease and free access to the business centre.
- The package covers up to ten activities and ten shareholders. Beyond that, 1,000 AED per extra activity and 150 AED per extra shareholder from the fourth onwards.
- General Trading is not in the package. It costs 2,000 AED more.
- Renewal is at the same package price every year, licence and visa together. The licence runs one year and the visa two, which is why the amount does not change.
- The zero visa package does not let you open a bank account: banks ask for UAE residency. A power of attorney is the way round it if you do not intend to come.
- The renewal price is not published on the public site, and the late penalty is not published either.
- An Ajman Free Zone company can open a branch on the UAE mainland, subject to the mainland requirements and approvals that apply.
- The whole incorporation can be completed without the shareholder travelling to the UAE.
- Audited financial statements are not usually required in the standard process. The compliance team may still ask for them, depending on the company or its activities.
- To apply, the zone asks for a passport copy, a photo, a copy of any UAE visa and Emirates ID you already hold, and a CV for the freelancer permit.
