Meydan Free Zone
What we think
Publishes its headline prices plainly, then stops: the second-year renewal price is nowhere on the site. Fast, and honest about the speed. The AED 12,500 headline carries no visa at all.
Publishes its headline prices, but not everythingPackages
- Trade licence and company registration
- Up to 3 activity groups, several activities per group
- 6 shareholders included, AED 2,000 per extra shareholder
- Flexi-desk included
- Visa quota selectable from 0 to 6, none included in the price
- Licence issued in under 60 minutes, full refund if it is not
- Single founder only: one person is shareholder, manager, director and beneficial owner
- Up to 3 activity groups out of 1,800+
- One free amendment in the first year
- AED 1,000 per additional activity
- Issued remotely, no UAE residence and no travel required
- 60 minutes to 3 days
- Workspace included
- AED 1,500 optional guaranteed bank account assistance
Where each line was read: product page, a commercial commitment on the zone's own site. Official document, a downloadable schedule, regulation or terms. Blog only, an article on the zone's site, editorial and not contractual. Not published, the zone does not say.
Visas
Offices and desks
Year two, and closing down
The two figures nobody advertises. A cheap first year means nothing if year two doubles, and nothing at all if leaving costs a fortune.
Renewal, per year
Not published. The official renewal guide says fees vary and refers you to your dashboard or an advisor. A 30 day grace period applies, and failing to renew automatically cancels licences, visas and employment contracts.
Closing the company
Not published. The terms say the free zone may cancel a licence for breach, misleading information, non payment, ceasing to trade, insolvency or a money laundering or sanctions breach, and that an administrative fee of AED 2,000 may be deducted before any refund. The cost of closing voluntarily is not published.
Other fees and penalties
Binding terms
- No minimum paid-up capital. AED 100,000 is recommended, not required.
- No mandatory physical office, but a registered address must be kept with the authority at all times.
- Audited financial statements must be filed within 30 days of any request from the authority.
- Refunds may be refused outright, and are refused if documents are not supplied within 60 days of licensing.
- Licence valid up to 10 years. Multi-year licences carry up to 15 percent off, the breakdown is not published.
- Virtual asset activities require a private office, two UAE resident responsible individuals and a resident compliance officer.
Contradictions on the zone's own site
- The regulations allow up to 100 shareholders, the FAQ says 50. The site does not reconcile the two.
- Office prices exist only in blog articles. The office product page itself carries no price.
What this zone does not publish
- The renewal price for year two.
- The multi-year discount breakdown.
- The channel partner commission rate.
- Any downloadable price list. The cost calculator is the only pricing tool and it starts at zero.
- The fine schedule.

AED 1,000 back on this zone
This zone pays us an introduction fee, and we hand AED 1,000 of it back to you once your trade licence has actually been issued. You pay the zone exactly what you would pay going direct, we never take a dirham from you, and the cashback is only due if you filled in the Free Zone Radar form first.
Figures quoted from the zone are left in the language the zone published them in, so you can check them word for word. This file is available in English and French. The comparator itself is in Arabic too.
