Rules that apply

1. Zero paid-up share capital. No minimum capital requirement.
2. A registered address is compulsory and must be kept current with the registrar. The included coworking lease satisfies this.
3. KYC details must be confirmed or updated at renewal.
4. Records must be kept for 5 years.
5. Ultimate beneficial owner declaration is compulsory, including the shareholding structure.
6. SPC may change, suspend or discontinue any aspect of its service at any time, with immediate effect.
7. The second year covers the trade licence and the visa allocation only.
8. No audited financial statements or report are required at any stage.
9. SPC sells three licence types, standard, publishing and e-publishing, and the price varies with the activities selected: this is why 5,750 AED, 6,875 AED and 10,900 AED all appear on its site. Pay as you go applies to every licence type.
10. A licence carries up to 5 business activities, or 5 groups of activities.
11. Up to 7 shareholders are included in the licence at no extra cost. SPC accepts up to 100, and each shareholder beyond the seventh costs 1,000 AED.
12. At renewal, the licence is charged at its purchase price, plus 1,600 AED for each visa quota held and the 10 AED Research and Knowledge fee. Visa renewals are separate.
13. Paying several years at once lowers the licence and the visa quota: 10 percent over 2 years, 15 percent over 3, 17 percent over 5, 20 percent over 10. The other fees stay at the standard rate.
14. Payment can be split into up to 12 instalments with Tabby or Tamara, or spread over 3, 6 or 12 months with partner banks.
