Year two, and closing down
The two figures nobody advertises. A cheap first year means nothing if year two doubles, and nothing at all if leaving costs a fortune.
Renewal, per year
AED 15,000 per year for a company licence and AED 7,500 for a freelance permit, plus AED 20 per transaction. The regulator's tariff sets the fee per annum, but the zone's own site never states it.
Closing the company
Deregistration costs AED 1,500 plus AED 20, takes four working days, and requires an auditor letter and notices in an Arabic and an English newspaper. AED 1,000 for accelerator companies.
Other fees and penalties
Binding terms
- Licences and permits run one year and renew annually.
- One employee visa per 80 square feet of leased space.
- Audited financial statements must be filed within six months of the year end.
- Operations must stay inside the free zone. Onshore trading is not permitted on this licence.
- Minimum paid-up capital is set by the registrar case by case, with no published figure.
Contradictions on the zone's own site
- The zone says registration takes seven working days, the regulator says ten working days plus two.
- The zone advertises the freelance package at AED 7,520 without disclosing that the underlying regulator tariff is AED 7,500 plus AED 20 of statutory dirhams.
- The zone claims pricing in line with market rates yet publishes no office, retail or land rate at all.

AED 1,000 back on this zone
